Yimi Garcia Picks Up Win After Blowing Save
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Yimi Garcia blew a save on Opening Day on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals but was credited with the win in an eventual 10-9 win. Jordan Romano picked up the save for Toronto. Garcia allowed two hits and two runs while walking two and striking out none in his inning of work in the eighth inning in the first game of the regular season. It wasn't the greatest start for the 32-year-old right-handed reliever, but it's telling that he worked ahead of Romano in the eighth inning with a one-run lead. Garcia had a career-high 22 holds in 2022 and will remain valuable in fantasy leagues that count holds.
