Yimi Garcia Has A Very Rough Sunday
3 years agoMiami Marlins closer Yimi Garcia had a very rough outing in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Braves. Garcia was brought into the ninth inning with a four-run lead, not a save situation. He got through the inning, but not before allowing four runs on four hits and three walks, throwing 38 pitches, 25 for strikes. Garcia clearly didn't have it in this game, but manager Don Mattingly inexplicably left him in to throw almost 40 pitches while the Braves batted around. Garcia has been getting much better results than his peripherals show, so games like this were always coming and this may not be the last one. His ERA blew up to 3.66 after this awful inning.
