Yimi Garcia Earns The Win On Monday
4 years agoMiami Marlins relief pitcher Yimi Garcia pitched well and earned a win in relief in Monday's extra-inning victory over the Atlanta Braves. Garcia pitched 1 1/3 innings, allowing just a walk while striking out one. He inherited two base runners and stranded them both. Garcia came in to get the last out of the ninth inning and induced a ground out from Ozzie Albies after walking Ronald Acuna Jr. to load the bases. He then came back to pitch a clean ninth inning, aside from the runner on second base to start the inning. With this performance and the lack thereof from Anthony Bass, it would appear that Garcia will be the closer in Miami, at least in the near future.
