Yennier Cano Earns His Third Save Wednesday
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles reliever Yennier Cano recorded his third save of the season on Wednesday when he threw a clean ninth inning, striking out one without allowing a baserunner, protecting the 2-1 lead against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 29-year-old has been unbelievable in 2023, as he has yet to give up a run over 18.2 innings and is running a 0.16 WHIP with 22 punchouts and no walks. Felix Bautista threw 29 pitches on Tuesday, making it unlikely he would pitch Wednesday, so fantasy managers shouldn't assume there's been a change at closer. However, Cano has massive value in save and hold leagues, considering he's earned six holds thus far.
