Yennier Cano Blows Fifth Save Of Season Tuesday
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Yennier Cano blew his fifth save of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Phillies. Cano came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by one. He got the first out on a groundout, allowed a single, got the second out on a strikeout, allowed an RBI double to tie the game, and allowed back-to-back singles to end the game. Felix Bautista, the team's closer has pitched very frequently since the All-Star break, so he was not available to close this one out. Despite the blown saves, Cano has pitched very well this season with a 1.82 ERA, four saves, and 24 holds. As great as he is, his current role only lends itself to fantasy value in saves + holds leagues.
