6 years agoThe Colorado Rockies have optioned reliever Yency Almonte back to Triple-A and recalled infielder Pat Valaika. Almonte was touched up by the Marlins on Friday, though both runs he allowed were the unearned variety thanks to an error by DJ LeMahieu. Almonte made two appearances in relief during his short stint with the big league club, but after a couple strong games by Colorado starting gave some of the regular relievers some much-needed rest, Almonte was sent packing in exchange for an extra infielder.
