Yency Almonte Earns One-Out Save Monday
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Yency Almonte picked up his first save of the season in Monday's 5-3 win over the Rockies. Almonte entered the game up by three with two outs in the ninth inning and runners on first and second. He allowed an inherited runner to score on a single but got the final out with a strikeout. This seems like a rare opportunity for Almonte, as Craig Kimbrel (back) is day-to-day after being hit in the back on Sunday and Monday's save opportunity arose late in the game, as opposed to being a traditional opportunity the team could plan for. He does have a 1.74 ERA in 20 2/3 innings pitched, but doesn't hold any fantasy value at this time.
