Yasmani Grandal Sits Thursday, Matt Kemp Bats Cleanup
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal will sit out Thursday's finale against the Marlins and Austin Barnes will start in his place behind the dish. He'll bat second. It looks like nothing more than a day off for Grandal, who's only missed two out of the last ten games. Outfielder Matt Kemp is starting in left field and batting cleanup. Kemp, the team's best hitter, has been cold lately as the Dodgers continue to struggle against some of the worst teams in the league. He'll look to jump start something against lefty Caleb Smith, as Kemp is 15-for-43 against left-handers this season with a .952 OPS. With Justin Turner hitting ahead of him, he'll likely get an RBI opportunity or two. The Dodgers should wake up at any moment and today seems as good a day as any.
