Yasiel Puig Lifted After Apparent Arm Injury
6 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds were forced to pull outfielder Yasiel Puig early from their game on Sunday after he made an outstanding catch down the right field line. He crashed hard into the wall and was favoring his arm afterwards resulting in his removal from the game. Puig was 0-for-3 on the afternoon against Dodgers starter Hyun-Jin Ryu and has now seen his average drop to .206. It hasn't been the start that Reds fans and fantasy owners had hoped from the 28-year-old but his bat should come around eventually. The Reds are calling him day-to-day with a right shoulder sprain as they open up a two-game set in Milwaukee on Tuesday. Hopefully Puig returns for this series but he could use a break to get his offense back on track.

It carries a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison. Puig currently plays professionally in South Korea and will make his initial appearance in U.S. District Court on Tuesday. He played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Guardians during a seven-year MLB career from 2013-19.
