Yanquiel Fernandez Picks Up First Triple-A Hit
4 months agoColorado Rockies outfield prospect Yanquiel Fernandez picked up his first hit for Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. The 21-year-old went 1-for-4 in the contest, connecting for a single and RBI. It was his second game with his new team, but he continues to have strong exit velocities off his bat. Fernandez has seen his stock shoot up over the last few seasons for a Rockies system that has been loaded with outfield prospects like Jordan Beck, Benny Montgomery and Zac Veen to name a few. Fernandez has worked on his plate discipline and that has been a big reason for his ascension, but his hard-hitting bat cannot be ignored. Between Double-A and Triple-A this season, Fernandez has hit a combined .280 with 10 homers and 47 RBI. Fernandez should continue to tap into his power and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him in Colorado at some point in 2025. With his upside, dynasty managers should consider adding the outfielder before it is too late.
