Yankees Won't Pursue Bryce Harper
6 years agoThe New York Yankees "will not be in on" free-agent outfielder Bryce Harper this offseason, according to a source. The Yankees have a surplus of outfielders and also re-signed veteran Brett Gardner for 2019, so they'll make Manny Machado and pitching additions more of a priority. Harper disappointed with a .249 batting average but still had a .393 on-base percentage and .889 OPS with 34 home runs and 100 RBI in 550 at-bats. The 26-year-old also added 13 stolen bases and will remain one of the best overall players in baseball in 2019 wherever he lands.
