3 years agoThe New York Yankees are looking to add a first baseman prior to the start of the 2022 season. According to a report from Yankees beat writer Erik Boland, Athletics first baseman Matt Olson is their preference at the position. However, the Athletics will have a high asking price in return for Olson, targeting prospects primarily. The Yankees currently have several options to cover first base, including Luke Voit, Joey Gallo and DJ LeMahieu. However, all indications since the offseason began are that the team wants to add a higher-end option at the position. Olson is coming off a career-best year in which he hit .271/.371/.540 with 39 home runs and 111 RBI.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
