1 day agoThe New York Yankees announced on Thursday that they signed manager Aaron Boone to a two-year contract extension through the 2027 season. Boone led the Yankees to the World Series last fall for the first time since 2009 and is one of three managers in franchise history to lead the team to the playoffs in six of his first seven years, joining Casey Stengel and Joe Torre. He ranks seventh on the Yankees' all-time wins list, and his .599 career winning percentage ranks 10th all time and second among active managers, behind only Dave Roberts of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Yankees rebounded nicely in 2024 after winning 82 games and missing the playoffs for the first time under Boone in 2023. Shortly after the World Series, the Yankees exercised the club option on Boone's contract for 2025, but now he'll remain with the organization at least through the 2027 season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
