Yankees Reassign Roderick Arias To Minor-League Camp
34 mins agoThe New York Yankees have reassigned shortstop prospect Roderick Arias to minor league camp. The 20-year-old was a non-roster invitee this spring and had gone 3-for-7 over his first five Grapefruit League games, but will head back to the minors where he finished last season at Single-A. The switch-hitter compiled a .233-13-74-78-37 line over the 2024 campaign in 124 games, along with a strong 12.3 percent walk rate, but the 31.0 percent strikeout rate was concerning. The Dominican will want to work on that this season if he wants to keep progressing through the organization, although he's still a couple of years away from the big leagues, with a 2027 ETA per MLB.com's top prospects list. The Yankees' No. 7 overall prospect could still be growing into this power and clearly has speed, so dynasty managers will want to pay close attention to how this season plays out as he's got the potential to be an impactful player for fantasy.
