Yankees Reached Out To Marlins About Cameron Maybin
6 years agoThe New York Yankees have reached out to the Miami Marlins in regards to veteran outfielder Cameron Maybin. With just hours left before the trade deadline, the Yankees are expected to add another bat to their arsenal. They've been linked to catchers and outfielders, but with injuries to Aaron Judge (wrist) and Clint Frazier (migraines), the latter seems more likely. The 31-year-old Maybin makes sense for the Yankees; he's on a one-year deal in 2018 and is owed just $3.25 million. He also would provide much-needed depth to the outfield, and has hit better in July (.309 batting average). The Yankees have also been linked to a familiar face in the Toronto Blue Jays' Curtis Granderson, so fantasy owners of cheap, veteran outfielders should keep a close eye on the happenings of Tuesday.
