Yankees Not Fazed By Chance Adams’ Rough Spring
7 years agoRanked as one of the top-10 prospects in the New York Yankees farm system, pitcher Chance Adams endured a rough spring training this year. The 23-year-old made three appearances for the club this spring, surrendering six runs in 4 2/3 innings, posting an 0-1 record and an 11.57 ERA along the way. This came on the heels of a 2017 season that saw him go 15-5 with a 2.69 ERA in 27 starts between Double-A and Triple-A. While he had an outside chance of earning the fifth spot in the Yankees rotation this season, he was always behind Jordan Montgomery, Luis Cessa and Domingo German, who posted significantly more impressive numbers this spring. Regardless, the Yankees still envision Adams as a major leaguer moving forward.
