Yankees Not Expected To Re-Sign Andrew McCutchen
6 years agoThe New York Yankees are not expected to re-sign impending free-agent outfielder Andrew McCutchen. The team will also have a decision to make on whether to pick up Brett Gardner's $12.5 million option for next year. McCutchen hit .253/.421/.471 with five home runs and 10 RBI in 25 games for the Yankees after being acquired from the Giants. He still managed to reach the 20-homer plateau for the eighth straight season, but both McCutchen's power and speed is declining as he enters his age-32 season in 2019. He's no longer an elite fantasy outfielder but a complementary one.
