Yankees Hopeful James Paxton's Injury Isn't Serious
6 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that starting pitcher James Paxton's knee has been "nagging" him in his previous starts, but it became more of a problem on Friday when he was pulled from the game. Boone is "hopeful that it's just some soreness," but the club will find out after he undergoes an MRI exam on Saturday. The 30-year-old left-hander gave up an unearned run in three innings on Friday and now has a nice 3.11 ERA with a handy 12.42 K/9 in seven starts (37 2/3 innings). It would be a big blow to the Yanks and fantasy owners if Paxton required an injured list stint.
