Yankees Have Talked To Twins About Ervin Santana
6 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Ervin Santana just returned to game action from the disabled list on July 25, but it seems he already has suitors lining up for him. According to Jon Heyman, the New York Yankees have inquired about Santana's availability. The Yankees have been engaged in talks for a starting pitcher — especially the Toronto Blue Jay's J.A. Happ — as well as others. Santana is the newest name on the list. The veteran returned to face those same Blue Jays and allowed three runs over five innings. Santana is only one year removed from a 16-8, 3.28 ERA All-Star campaign. The Twins have been considered sellers, but it remains to be seen if they instead try their luck at beating out the Cleveland Indians for the American League Central lead. If Santana were to join the Yankees though, his fantasy value would skyrocket.
