Yankees Considering Starling Marte, Max Kepler, Trevor Story
3 years agoThe New York Yankees appear to be in buying mode with the trade deadline approaching next week, and they have been in contact with the Miami Marlins on center fielder Starling Marte, the Minnesota Twins on outfielder Max Kepler and the Colorado Rockies on Trevor Story, according to two sources. The Yankees have also focused on adding pitching. The Twins asking price on Kepler has been exorbitant, leading to suspicion that they aren't seriously considering trading him. The left-hander would help balance a right-heavy Yankees lineup and won't be a free agent until at least 2024. Marte, 32, has been great this year and would help solve the Yankees center field problems. He'll be a free agent after this season. Story is also a free agent after the 2021 campaign, and he'd enable the Yankees to push Gleyber Torres back to second base. Marte and Kepler would receive a pretty nice fantasy boost moving to Yankee Stadium.
