Yankees Calling Up Thairo Estrada
6 years agoThe New York Yankees are calling up shortstop Thairo Estrada, their No. 19 prospect per MLB Pipeline, from the minors to replace injured shortstop Troy Tulowitzki (calf). The 23-year-old Estrada can also play second base and third base, so he'll essentially become a utility infielder for the beat up Yankees in the early going. He hit only .192/.210/.231 with no homers and eight RBI in 18 games in the minors last year and .301/.353/.392 with six long balls and 48 RBI in 122 games the previous year. Estrada has some speed but probably won't play or hit enough to be relevant in redraft formats.
