Yankees, Among Others, Watch David Robertson Throw
4 years agoFree-agent relief pitcher David Robertson (elbow) threw for a number of teams on Thursday, including the New York Yankees, at the University of Alabama. Robertson touched 91 mph and showed off his patented curveball and looks to be in shape with a week until pitchers and catchers report for spring training. The Phillies declined the right-hander's option for 2021 after he was shut down in August after having a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. The 35-year-old has a solid 2.90 career ERA and could return to a Yankees team that he pitched for from 2008-14. If he can get past his arm injuries, Robertson could be a key late-inning reliever with plenty of experience (137 career saves) for a ball club. For now, though, fantasy managers can just monitor the situation to see where he lands.
