Yan Gomes Completes a Strong Cactus League Season
7 years agoCleveland Indians catcher Yan Gomes finished up a strong Spring Training, finishing with a .348/.423/.652 slash line. He hit three home runs and drove in 15 in 18 games. Gomes isn't exactly known for his bat, but if he can keep his hot spring going into the season, he could hold off some of the other Cleveland catchers for a bit longer than expected. Gomes has some competition behind the plate this season, and may end up in a platoon situation at best. He's a good two-catcher league option, but probably not someone that needs to be owned in standard leagues.
