4 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Yan Gomes went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a win over the Giants on Friday night. Gomes has been a solid addition for the A's at the trade deadline as he's 10-for-40 with two doubles and eight RBI thus far with his new club. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, he's not quite getting enough playing time to justify a roster spot in one-catcher fantasy leagues. Gomes and Sean Murphy have been splitting time behind the plate and it doesn't appear manager Bob Melvin wants to commit to one starting catcher. Gomes is batting .267 this season with a .453 slugging percentage so he's got upside in two-catcher formats despite fewer at-bats than most backstops.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
