Yadier Molina Stuffs The Stat Sheet Friday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina went 3-for-5 with one homer, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a 9-3 win over the Rockies in 10 innings. The 38-year-old's eighth homer of the season was a two-run shot in the second inning off of Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez. The performance was a welcomed sight, as the nine-time All-Star struggled mightily during June. Yadi had zero homers, eight RBI and dropped his batting average 30 points (.284 to .254) during the month. Molina has had a solid season overall for a backstop with eight homers, 37 RBI, two steals and a .257 batting average over 62 games. Molina is still a fantasy relevant option behind the plate and can be deployed in most formats.
