Yadier Molina Plans to Retire After the 2020 Season
Yadier Molina plans to retire after the 2020 season. "Three more years, that's it," said Molina. He signed a three-year, $60 million extension that begins with the 2018 season, and if he sticks to his word, it'll be the last contract he signs. Molina is still a very effective backstop, putting up a 2017 line of .273/.312/.439. He'll be 38 when his contract runs out.

Yadier Molina Out Again On Friday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina (knee) will remain sidelined for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 40-year-old catcher will miss his third game in a row due to right knee soreness. The organization does consider him day-to-day, so hopefully he can avoid a trip to the injured list. Andrew Knizner will cover behind the plate and bat eighth against left-hander Andrew Heaney on Friday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly.
