Xavier Isaac Returns To Starting Lineup
1 min agoTampa Bay Rays first base prospect Xavier Isaac (elbow) returned to the starting lineup on Sunday. Isaac was sidelined during the early part of camp due to soreness in his elbow. The budding star underwent X-rays, and the results came back negative. In this contest, Isaac served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-2 with a walk. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status but seeing him return to the starting lineup suggests this injury was not serious. However, it is still unclear when he will be cleared to play on the defensive side of the game. The 21-year-old has primarily played in the infield in the minor leagues but has begun seeing time in the outfield. Last season, Isaac spent most of the 2024 campaign at High-A and held a strong .287/.281/.535 slash line with 15 home runs. He received a brief taste of Double-A and is expected to open the 2025 season at that level.
