2 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (shin) is being held out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Kike Hernandez will be covering shortstop for the game. Bogaerts took a foul ball off his lower shin during this past weekend. It's unclear at this point whether or not he will miss additional time so he should be considered day-to-day. The 29-year-old has been struggling at the plate so far in August, slashing just .208/.220/.333 across 12 games this month. He owns a .303/.373/.444 slash line on the year to go along with nine home runs, 49 RBI and 63 runs.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
