Xander Bogaerts Goes 2-For-4 In Thursday's Loss
2 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in the team's 5-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. It was his fifth multi-hit game over his last six outings. The 29-year-old owns a .317/.392/.458 slash line on the year to go along with seven home runs, 37 RBI and 53 runs. Bogaerts hasn't been lifting the ball as consistently as we'd like to see. His ground ball rate is up from 40% last year to 45.6% this year while his fly ball rate is down from 37.4% last year to 31.5% this year. He's also been the victim of some bad luck as he has a HR/FB rate of just 9% on the year.
