Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (ribs) underwent X-rays on his injured ribs Sunday night and the results came back negative. The Bears rookie quarterback exited Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens with bruised ribs and did not return. He will undergo additional testing on Monday. Chicago plays the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, and it's unknown at this time if Fields will be cleared ahead of Thursday's game. The 22-year-old has struggled his rookie season, throwing for 1,361 yards and a 4:8 touchdown-to-interception ratio while rushing for 311 yards and two scores over 10 games in 2021. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation. Andy Dalton would be the Bears starting quarterback if Fields cannot suit up for Thursday's game.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

The New York Jets have signed quarterback Justin Fields to a two-year contract worth $40 million. This deal includes $30 million guaranteed. The 26-year-old opened the 2024 campaign as Pittsburgh's No. 1 quarterback before being replaced by Russell Wilson. During his time as the starter, Fields averaged 183.4 passing yards and 38.5 rushing yards per game. He found the back of the end zone 10 times (five passing, five rushing) and threw just one interception. During the 2022 season, Fields enjoyed a career-season as he tallied 2,242 passing yards and added an impressive 1,143 yards on the ground. During this season, he threw 17 scores and tallied eight rushing touchdowns. However, he threw 11 interceptions. Fantasy managers should expect Fields to likely operate as their starting quarterback as the Jets are parting ways with Aaron Rodgers. Veteran Tyrod Taylor is also on the roster and could compete for starting opportunities during training camp if Fields were to struggle. Fields carries solid upside as a high-end QB2 in all formats given his elite rushing ability.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

The New York Jets are viewed as the top candidate to sign free-agent quarterback Justin Fields, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. No deal has been reached yet, but league sources believe he will ultimately land with New York. Fields spent last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and threw for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception in 10 game appearances. Fields started the team's first six games before being benched for veteran signal-caller Russell Wilson. However, the former first-round pick out of Ohio State could get another starting opportunity based on his resume in his first four NFL campaigns. Overall, Fields has racked up 7,780 passing yards, 45 passing touchdowns, 31 interceptions, 2,509 rushing yards, and 19 rushing touchdowns in 50 career games. He is one of the best rushing quarterbacks in the NFL, but he would likely not be an ideal quarterback for Garrett Wilson's fantasy football production. UPDATE: Fields continues to talk with the Steelers, but he will not re-sign in Pittsburgh unless they commit to him as their starter.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler states that free agent quarterback Justin Fields wants to test the free agency market in an attempt to make an informed decision. However, a reunion with the Pittsburgh Steelers is still on the table. Reportedly, both sides are open to a reunion, but Fields wants to "truly see how teams view him." Fowler also mentioned that the New York Jets' interest has "percolated" since before the combine. The 26-year-old led Pittsburgh to a 4-2 record through six weeks in 2024, though he only eclipsed 156 passing yards twice and tossed just five touchdowns before being replaced by Russell Wilson to close out the season. Whether Fields will start in 2025 remains to be seen, but there are still a few quarterback-needy teams, and this year's draft class does not feature as many strong QB prospects as the prior offseason. Even if Fields does land in a favorable spot, there's no guarantee he'll be given the reigns of an offense.--Alex Ciulla

The New York Jets are high on Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent quarterback Justin Fields, multiple sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The Jets love Fields' athleticism, leadership traits, and ability to move the pocket, and they also think his best football is ahead of him. Meanwhile, the Steelers are trying to re-sign one of Fields or veteran Russell Wilson, and it's believed that they prefer to keep the younger Fields over Wilson. The 25-year-old Fields has been inconsistent as a passer in his short time in the NFL, but he makes up for it with his athleticism and was off to a nice start last year before Wilson took over. New York could give Fields a one- or two-year prove-it deal that's loaded with incentives, similar to what the Vikings gave Sam Darnold a year ago. The Jets have the salary cap space to sign Fields, and he has a history with receiver Garrett Wilson (they played together at Ohio State). The Jets could sign Fields and then also take a rookie QB on Day 2 or 3 of the draft.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
