Wyatt Langford Increasingly Likely To Make Opening Day Roster
8 months agoTexas Rangers outfield prospect Wyatt Langford hasn't officially cracked the club's Opening Day roster but has done everything he can to do so, according to general manager Chris Young. The fourth overall pick of the 2023 draft has made headlines this spring as he has raked to this point in Cactus League action. The 22-year-old has hit .361 with five home runs, including a grand slam, alongside 14 RBI and a big-time 1.248 OPS across 43 trips to the plate this spring. The Florida Gators product has appeared in just 44 minor league games, combining to hit .360 with 10 home runs, 12 stolen bases, and a 1.157 OPS across an even 200 trips to the plate. Even if he doesn't make the Opening Day roster Langford looks likely to make a fantasy impact sooner than later.
