24 seconds agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu was removed from the team's starting lineup on Saturday for undisclosed reasons. Abreu was originally in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals, but after a rain delay, he was replaced by Rob Refsnyder. It's a big hit to the Red Sox lineup since Abreu has started off the season scalding hot, hitting .500 (11-for-22) with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI, and a .650 wOBA. The Red Sox have outfield depth, but Abreu has been so productive that losing him for any length of time would be a tough blow for the team.
