Wily Peralta Throws Seven Scoreless Innings Against Rangers
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Wily Peralta had a dominant outing against the Texas Rangers on Monday. Making his fourth start of the year, Peralta went seven innings and allowed three hits, no walks and no runs while striking out six. Peralta now has a 2.14 ERA and 0.86 WHIP over 21 innings on the year. He has a good chance of sticking in the rotation for at least another few weeks, especially if he keeps pitching anything like he did on Monday. He's worth monitoring in deep fantasy leagues and AL-only leagues, but there's no need to rush and pick him up just yet. He has minimal win potential on the Tigers and he hasn't handled a starter's workload in the majors since 2017 with the Milwaukee Brewers. His next start will be on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins.
