Wily Peralta Pitches Four Innings In His Return
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Wily Peralta (finger) was activated from the 10-day injured list prior to his start against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. He went on to pitch four innings in the game, allowing four hits, one walk and three runs (two earned) while striking out two. Peralta was sidelined for the minimum 10 days due to a right finger blister. He has had a solid year for the Tigers, going 3-3 with a 3.68 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP over 14 games (13 starts). However, he hasn't been pitching very deep into games and he has a minuscule 14.8% strikeout rate, which ranks in the bottom 4% of the league. He'll make his next start on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
