Wily Peralta Botches The 10th Inning
5 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Wily Peralta has surprisingly been decent over the last month. His laughable walk rate has come down as he's only walked four in his last 12 2/3 innings, and he's only allowed three earned runs in the time. Unfortunately, two of those came in the 10th inning against the Twins on Saturday. A leadoff single and a hit batter put Peralta in a big hole as the heart of Minnesota's lineup came up, and he wasn't able to walk the razor's edge. Peralta's lack of strikeouts and penchant for wildness limit his long-term success, so even when he goes through good spurts like his recent one, he's not worthy of a roster spot in most leagues.
