Wilson Ramos Homers Monday Versus Houston
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos got the team off to a quick start versus the Astros Monday. His first inning two-run home run put the team up 2-0 three batters into the game. Ramos is among the league leaders for hits as a catcher in 2018. Ramos now has nine home runs and 35 RBI to go with a fantasy-friendly .286 batting average. The batting average and stats are much more appealing given the standards for catchers to be useful in fantasy. His 2015 season was a success, as he hit 22 HRs with 80 runs batted in and a .307 batting average over 131 games played. He has never been a major source of runs scored, but if he can stay healthy, he has the upside of a starter in most fantasy leagues. If you have the bench space, the smart play is to pair Ramos with a steady catcher.
