Wilson Ramos Bats Fourth In Final Spring Training Game
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos batted in the cleanup spot Tuesday, just two days before the regular season starts. Ramos spent much of the 2017 season fighting injuries. He only managed to play 64 games but still provided some flashes of his 2016 ability. He would hit 11 home runs while keeping the strikeouts low. His 2015 season was a success, as he hit 22 home runs with 80 runs batted in and a .307 batting average over 131 games played. He has never been a major source of runs scored, but if he can stay healthy, he has the upside of a starter in most fantasy leagues. If you have the bench space, the smart play is to pair Ramos with a steady catcher like a Russell Martin or Brian McCann. Batting in the middle of the order can only help his value.
