Wilson Ramos Available Day After Injury Wednesday
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos (left hand) was reported to be available Wednesday if needed versus the Red Sox. His hand was still bruised and he did not appear in the game but the fact that he was available speaks to the hope that the injury will not keep him out for more than a few days. He now has six home runs and 22 RBI to go with a very fantasy friendly .288 batting average. His 2015 season was a success as he hit 22 HRs with 80 runs batted in and a .307 batting average over 131 games played. He has never been a major source of runs scored, but if he can stay healthy, he has the upside of a starter in most fantasy leagues. If you have the bench space, the smart play is to pair Ramos with a steady catcher. In the short term, Jesus Sucre will likely get some playing time.
