Wilmer Flores Walks Off The Mariners With RBI Single
6 days agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Wilmer Flores entered the game in the ninth inning of Sunday's contest as a pinch-hitter and took the first pitch he saw to right field for an RBI single to complete the three-game sweep over the Seattle Mariners over the weekend. Flores is off to a nice start to his 2025 campaign with 12 RBI, five runs scored, and four home runs in 35 plate appearances. Flores is slashing .273/.314/.636 in the young season and will continue his hot start as the Giants host the Cincinnati Reds for a three-game series. Flores has been known to sit against right-handed pitchers occasionally, so fantasy managers should consider riding the hot bat in the short term or adding him in deeper league formats.

Wilmer Flores Homers In Wednesday's Win
3 days agoSan Francisco Giants DH Wilmer Flores had a big night in an 8-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings on Wednesday. Flores went 3-for-4 with a homer, two runs, and two RBI to help lead his team to the win. The veteran is off to a strong start in 2025, hitting .273 with five homers, seven runs, and 14 RBI over 44 at-bats. Flores had just four homers in 214 at-bats during the 2024 season. While his days of being a must-start fantasy option are over, he's worth a look in deeper leagues while he's swinging a hot bat.

Wilmer Flores Hits Home Run, Tallies Four RBI In Victory
2 weeks agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Wilmer Flores went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI during their 7-2 victory over the Houston Astros on Monday evening. Flores tallied an RBI single in the second frame off Houston right-hander Ronel Blanco. This hit scored outfielder Heliot Ramos. Later in the sixth, Flores would launch a three-run shot, which scored Jung Hoo Lee and Patrick Bailey. The 33-year-old has enjoyed a productive start to the campaign, going 4-for-15 with three long balls, eight RBI, and a 1:1 BB:K. After going deep just four times across 71 contests last season, Flores is just one home run away from matching that number in 2025. Fantasy managers should expect Flores to continue to serve as the everyday DH in San Francisco while Jerar Encarnacion (hand) remains sidelined.

Giants Exercise Club Option On Wilmer Flores
5 months agoThe San Francisco Giants exercised their 2025 club option on infielder Wilmer Flores, according to Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. The 33-year-old appeared in only 71 games this past season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Flores hit for a mere .207/.277/.318 line with just four home runs and 12 doubles. Under the hood, he posted a poor 27.6% hard-hit rate and 5.9% barrel rate. However, he did show a strong eye at the plate with a stellar 13.6% K rate and 13.9% whiff rate, which were among the highest marks last season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress during Spring Training as Flores may miss some time early on in the season.

Wilmer Flores Won't Make It Back This Year
8 months agoSan Francisco Giants infielder Wilmer Flores (knee) will miss the rest of the season, manager Bob Melvin announced back on Aug. 6. Flores had a Tenex procedure on his right knee on Aug. 6 after being put on the injured list on July 25. He had returned from the same injury on July 9. The Giants moved Flores to the 60-day IL on Aug. 16. "He was fighting it all year and unfortunately, we're losing him for the rest of the year, which isn't ideal," Melvin said. It's possible that Flores' knee had been bothering him well before he was shut down for the year and had surgery, as he hit .206/.277/.318 with a .595 OPS, four home runs, 26 RBI and 19 runs scored in 214 at-bats for the Giants this year. It was a disappointment after one of his best offensive showings in 2023, when he hit .284/.355/.509 with 23 home runs, all career-highs. Flores could bounce back with better health next year, but don't count on it.
