6 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Willy Adames provided the main offensive highlight for the team Friday versus the New York Mets. Adames homered in the fifth inning to tie the game at 1-1. It would stay that score until the walk-off grand slam for the Mets. Adames has not taken the league by storm, as he is hitting .231 with three home runs, one steal and eight RBI in 78 at-bats in his rookie season so far. He is still the Rays shortstop of the present and the future despite the struggles, as Adames is a top prospect who offers power and speed. He is quite desirable in long-term leagues.--Jamie Mellor
