6 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Willy Adames had a good day on Wednesday. First, the main threat to his everyday starting job in Adeiny Hechavarria was designated for assignment. Then, Adames went out in the game versus the Angels to score twice and drive in two runs. Among the production was his fourth HR of the season. Adames was one of the top prospects in the Tampa Bay organization who has some power to go with speed and elite athleticism defensively. He is a better option in longer-term formats.--Jamie Mellor
