Willie Calhoun Not Getting Much Playing Time So Far
6 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun has not been given much playing time since returning to the major leagues last Tuesday. Calhoun has played a part in two games in that time, entering as a pinch hitter Saturday, before starting in left field on Sunday. Calhoun has not registered a hit in his five plate appearances so far this month, and is unlikely to suddenly receive a significant playing time increase unless he makes it happen. At this stage it is difficult to do anything other than drop Calhoun in single season leagues. However, at some point it seems likely that the Rangers will need to give him consistent at-bats to see whether he deserves a roster spot in 2019. The issue is that predicting when that might happen is close to impossible right now.
