William Smith Bombed By Blue Jays
4 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher William Smith was crushed by Toronto Blue Jays hitters in the ninth inning of Thursday's game, which led to an 8-4 loss. The veteran closer allowed four runs on five hits in just one-third of an inning. Prior to this game, Smith had not allowed a run in his last six appearances. With just 14 1/3 innings under his belt this season, the rough outing ballooned his ERA to 5.02. However, aside from this outing, Smith is actually having a solid season with seven saves and a strikeout rate nearing 29%. Now might be the time to try and low-ball an opposing fantasy manager in an attempt to acquire the veteran hurler while his poor ERA casts a shadow over his overall numbers.
