4 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher William Smith recorded his fourth save of the year during the club's 5-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday. The veteran left-hander came out pounding the strike zone and threw nine of his 13 pitches for strikes (69%). Smith had previously walked six batters in eight innings of work this season. The southpaw now has 14 strikeouts on the year and is an excellent option for saves moving forward. He's just two years removed from locking down 34 games in San Francisco and has shown a little extra velocity on his pitches so far in 2021. He was up to 94.5 mph in his most recent outing and is still just 31 years old.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
