Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander was forced to exit Thursday's preseason clash against the Montreal Canadiens early due to an undisclosed injury. Nylander was hurt in a collision with Canadiens forward Christian Dvorak. He left the contest after logging only 4:08 of ice time across five shifts. The Maple Leafs called his removal from the game a precautionary move, so it looks like Nylander, luckily, avoided serious injury. The Swedish star has missed only one regular-season game across the last three campaigns and clearly doesn't like to sit out any action. Nylander, who's set to start 2024-25 as a center, has posted back-to-back 40-goal years and crushed his career-high with a 98-point effort last season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
