William Byron's Struggles Continue At Michigan With Rare DNF
1 year agoWilliam Byron has been a great example of consistency this season, as the driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet has been running at the finish in 20 of the first 22 races this year. It is now 20 of the first 23 after Byron's wreck at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, which relegated him to a 35th-place finish. That is Byron's worst finish of the season thus far, and his worst finish at a non-superspeedway track by far (his previous worst was a 25th-place result at Auto Club back in February. That makes it four straight finishes outside of the top-10 for Byron and his No. 24 team, and six results outside of that mark over the last eight races overall. Byron leads the series with four wins this year, though, so he's still a definite Championship contender--he's just going through a rough patch right now.
