William Byron Will Not Have To Drop To The Rear At Kansas
1 year agoDuring practice for the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway on Saturday, William Byron and the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports team found an issue with a piece in the suspension and had to replace it. A pre-race action like this typically draws a penalty for unapproved adjustments, but Byron and his team caught a break when NASCAR deemed that it was a part issue and not a team issue. Therefore, Byron will be able to keep his starting position earned during qualifying (9th) when the race goes green on Sunday. The No. 24 Chevrolet was 2nd-fastest in practice despite only running eight laps, and Byron finished in 3rd-place here at Kansas the last time we raced here. He's a viable fantasy option in all formats today.
