William Byron Will Be A Contender At Homestead
1 year agoWilliam Byron's career average finish of 17th at Homestead may not look impressive at first glance, but this is actually a good race track for him. In addition to winning here back in 2021, Byron was a strong top-five contender in this race one year ago before a slow pit stop doomed his day and he finished 12th. This season, Byron's No. 24 Chevrolet has been one of the fastest on the intermediate tracks, and during practice here on Saturday, his team thought that he was one of the fastest cars on the track over the long run. Byron will roll off the grid from the seventh-place starting position when the 4EVER 400 goes green on Sunday and should be at least a top-five contender when the checkered flag waves--if not a race-winning contender.
