William Byron Starts Third For Texas Race
2 years agoWilliam Byron is starting to get back to that consistency from last season. Remember when the Hendrick Motorsports driver had 14 top-tens in 15 races. Now, maybe that level is not quite attainable now. However, Byron has been better of late and qualifying third at Texas only enhances his chances. It does not hurt that the No. 24 finished second here last year and knows the track rather well. In that race, he was fifth and second after the first two stages. Again, the key is for Byron to stay out of trouble. His Chevy is more than fast enough. Byron even led a couple of laps at the All-Star Race in May before falling back due to a bad line.
