William Byron nearly starts on pole, may stay in contention
4 years agoWilliam Byron finished second in qualifying and will be on the right side in the front row on Sunday at Daytona. The Hendrick Motorsports driver has shown the ability to qualify well and even finished off a race at Daytona -- winning the second race at the track last year. He even qualified from the pole in 2019 and started fourth in 2020. It was that final race at Daytona which showed the potential of Byron at its fullest as he held off the field to triumph. Now, he has the chance to show it in the showcase race of the series.
